Edmonton Cake Smash Photographer

I love cake smashes! One year old kids are so busy exploring their world, and having them experience digging into a cake (often for the first time!) makes me so happy! Little Miss S was no exception. She was so happy to be in the studio and is such an adorable child to photograph!

As usual, we start with some regular portraits. Mom was all dressed up for a work event, so I insisted on having her jump in front of the camera for a few frames. This image captures S's personality perfectly, and I am so glad we did them!

Next S changed into her tutu and we set up the cake smash. As with all cake smashes, I provide the outfit and hair accessory for the smash itself, as well as all the decor for the set. The only thing the parents have to bring is the cake.

And S loved her cake! She dug right into it and had no problem eating mouthful after mouthful, even though this was her first time tasting cake!

She smiled the whole session and we were able to capture so many adorable expressions. I love how the purple and teal decor came together and S looks like such a princess in all the images. Aren't those little teeth adorable?!

Finally, we always end the session with a bubble bath. Most kids love this part of the session the most and S did too! She splashed around and even discovered that bubbles don't taste quite the same as cake! For this session, I used a vintage bread kneading bowl for her bath tub.
