Meet baby M! It was a pleasure meeting her and her family, especially once we realized we had mutual acquaintances; the world seems small sometimes! M is loved by her big brother and parents, and like every newborn session, we take the time to get a nice family image if desired. Sometimes wrangling a preschooler can be tricky, but big brother stepped up and we were able to quickly snap an image that they will cherish forever!
Of course we had to capture baby M with her parents. I usually do a few images with each parent separately, then the two of them together. While parent and family images are optional, they are included with no extra charge since I think these will be the most cherished family memories as the kids grow older.
M's mom choose this beautiful dusty rose and ivory colour scheme for the session. I just love how the soft colours compliment her delicate features!
The use of beautiful textures adds interest to the image. Doesn't she look so soft and peaceful?! Babies love being swaddled and it often helps them fall fast alseep, making taking the portraits much easier!
Once M was fast alseep we were able to unwrap her and take some images to show off her adorable little toes. I just love how newborns curl up their legs, just like they were in the womb.
To add some variety to the gallery, we switched up the dusty rose for some ivory and natural fibers. The ivory wool, burlap, and pearls coodinate so well with this monochrome scheme. I especially love the dainty knitted headband!
Newborn sessions take a lot of time, from pre-session planning, a 2-3 hour session, and hours of editing. I only take a handful of newborn clients each month in order to make sure everyone gets an ideal session appointment once baby arrives, so please message me early in your pregnancy to prebook your session. I make sure there is space around your due date and we finalize the exact day and time once baby arrives. If your baby has already arrived, please don't hesitate to reach out just in case; I may have a last minute opening!
